Inspiration

Inspired by Alice’s adventures in Wonderland, the White Rabbit Headdress was the beginning of my Animalesque journey and the first ever Animalesque design, initially created out of cardboard, paperclips and old ribbons over 10 years ago for a fancy dress party.

It has since been re-worked and developed and made in many different colours and fabrics.

Description

The Signature White Rabbits are back! Printed in charcoal grey on natural organic cotton, and handmade using organic cottons and carefully selected surplus materials from the fashion and costume industry. Finished with black cotton grosgrain ribbon to tie around the head, this favourite classic storybook character leaps from the page and invites you to take a trip down the rabbit hole and bring your own tales to life.

Materials and Techniques

Illustrated, hand printed and handmade in my waterside studio in Cornwall, working from an archive of textiles mindfully sourced from India, and surplus from theatre costume and fashion wardrobes.

Due to the handmade nature of Animalesque headdresses, allowances must be made for slight discrepancies between each piece.

Size

This headdress is made in one size to fit both children and adults.

Each headdress ties around your head with ribbons, making them adjustable to fit all head sizes including adults.

Measurements: 36cm by 14cm. Ribbon length 50cm
