Inspiration

As we arrive at the Summer Solstice and step into the longest days of the year, I’m excited to share this year’s limited edition Solstice Owl Headdress Collection.

Inspired by light, colour and the joy of dressing up, these one-of-a-kind pieces are made for festivals, summer parties and ceremonious celebrations of all kinds.

Description

The Solstice Owl is printed in gold on turquoise satin. Adorned with handmade torn silk flowers, gold and blue feathers and colourful pom-poms. Lined with sari silk or block print cotton, and finished with gold satin ribbons.

Each item is handmade and unique, so please allow for slight discrepancies. The colour of pom-poms and sari silk lining fabric may differ from the photograph shown.

Fabrics and Techniques

Each piece is an original Animalesque illustration and design, screen-printed and handmade using a rich combination of surplus theatre materials, vintage sari silks, gold trims and tassels, Indian block prints, colourful pom-poms, and with hand sewn details of sequins, beads and vintage bells.

Made in Cornwall by textile artist Sara Lowes.

Size

This headdress is made in one size with adjustable ribbons to fit all head shapes and sizes.

Measurements: 16x13cm. Feather detail 22cm. Ribbon length 50cm.
